During this constantly changing time and whirl wind of a year, we of course want Big Little Store to be your craft supplier, but we see it a little different now we are faced with Lockdown 2.0. It is not only about promoting our business, but about celebrating all small businesses in the crafting industry.
It has never been more important to support local and independent businesses until now. With Christmas fast approaching, many of us in the crafting industry have had to make many changes to the way we sell our products. Chances are, we have all been faced with unforeseen challenges and those deserve to be recognised and supported. So we are not here today to talk about Big Little Store and our latest products, but here to share the love and introduce you to some other fantastic small businesses in the craft industry.
International Craft is a wonderful family owned company in Buckinghamshire, specialising in Jewellery Components in Sterling Silver, 9ct Gold and Gold Filled. They have a fabulous supply of semi-precious gemstones, both strands and pendants to really make your designs special. Although their showroom will be closed to customers for the time being, they have a great website to order online! I think our favourite product has to be the Pendants, specifically the Rose Quartz... Beautiful!
Now, if you’re after something with a little more sparkle, then Bluestreak Crystals are the guys for you! As well as being a family run business, they are set apart by being certified Swarovski Authorised Wholesalers and a Precious Authorised Partner, meaning you can rest easy knowing purchases are 100% genuine at great prices. Get ready for the biggest and brightest selection of fabrics you’ve ever seen! Midsomer Quilting is a countryside quilting shop in Chilcompton with fantastic supplies for patchwork and sewing. Although their shop is closed and workshops cancelled, the online shop is a great shopping experience and offers fast and reliable shipping. Ready, get set, sew!
Although we may not be big knitters at Big Little Store, the boss’s mum definitely is! With only fabulous things to say about SMD Knitting, it only seems right to point out how awesome they are. Located in rural North Wales with their Alpacas (yes, you heard that right!), they sell a variety of sheep and alpaca wools and fibres from small UK based producers, as well as their own of course. What makes them stand out is that everyone at SMD Knitting either knits, crochets, spins or weaves, meaning they know the best possible products to work with. That is truly reflected in their great online shopping experience, where they sell yarns, needles, patterns and accessories.
